Glass shelves can be a beautiful and functional part of your home decor. If they are not cared for properly, however, they can start to look dingy and scratched. A soft piece of fabric is much better for wiping down your shelves, whether you are dusting them or using a cleaning product. Paper towel and newspaper sheets are also quite effective, although they can tear when damp, leaving small pieces of paper stuck to the surface of your glass shelves.

Once you have gathered together the right materials to clean your glass shelves, it is time to begin the cleaning process. First, you should carefully remove all items that are on the shelves. Make sure that you do not scratch the glass with any sharp corners and be very careful not to drop any heavy objects as they could chip an edge or shatter a shelf. Even if the screws do not appear loose, it never hurts to give them an extra turn with a screw driver.
